Description: Tepin (KY) B , F, foaled March 14, 2011 (Bernstein - Life Happened, by Stravinsky) gets back to the winner's circle with her dominating performance in the 8 furlong $400K Grade I First Lady Stakes of the soft turf course at Keeneland October 3, 2015. Jockey Julien Leparoux sent Tepin from her outside post out to track Cara Maria around the first turn and up the back stretch. Crowley's Law was up close in 3rd along the inside and My Miss Sophia was advancing steadily from between horses up the back stretch. Tepin took the cue from the rider and took off as they were spinning out of the far turn and drew off to win as much the best by 7 lengths. Crowley's Law edged My Miss Sophia for the place by 1/2 lengths. Tepin is 4-2-0 from 6 starts in 2015 and has earned $992,520 this year. She started her 4 year old year with a win in an AOC (no tag) March 21st at Gulfstream Park. She followed that with a victory in the G2 Distaff Turf Mile at Churchill Downs May 2nd, a win in the G1 Just A Game at Belmont Park on the turf June 6th, got beat in the G1 Diana Stakes on the turf at Saratoga by a nose by Hard Not To Like July 25th, and got beat by the Chilean filly Dacita by a head in the G2 Ballston Spa at 8.5 furlongs on the turf at Saratoga August 29th before her facile win in the First Lady Stakes. Her race record is 6-3-1 from 14 starts and she has earned $1,375,973. Tepin was bred by Machmer Hall, is owned by Robert E. Masterson, and is being trained by Mark Casse.
