Description: Takeover Target (KY) B , C, foaled March 17, 2012 (Harlan's Holiday - Vanquished, by Empire Maker) gets his first stakes victory in the 8.5 furlong $200K Grade II National Museum Of Racing Hall Of Fame Stakes on a firm turf course at Saratoga August 7, 2015. Jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. settled Takeover Target into a stalking position along the rail as Sailthehighseas set the pace. Courtier was tracking the pace and A Lot was racing alongside Takeover Target as they traveled up the back stretch. As they rounded the far turn, Courtier and A Lot came up to put the pressure on Sailthehighseas and Takeover Target stayed his course along the rail. At the top of the stretch Courtier got the lead, A Lot was coming at him from the outside and Takeover Target angled off the rail to the outside as they neared the furlong marker. The three of them charged to the wire with Takeover Target getting the win by a 1/2 length over A Lot. Courtier had to settle for 3rd, beaten a length for all the money. Takeover Target is 3-1-0 from 5 starts and he has earned $301,200. He was bred by Dorothy A. Matz, owned by Klaravich Stables and William Lawrence, and he is being trained by Chad Brown.
