Description: Skyring (KY) B , C, foaled January 30, 2009 (English Channel - Violet Lady, by Seattle Slew) and jockey Gary Stevens took the lead at the onset and set all the fractions with a victory in the 1 1/8 miles $300K Grade II Dixie Stakes on the turf at Pimlico Race Course, Preakness Day, May 18 2013. Wilcox Inn came running late but Skyring was well rated on the front end and prevailed by 1/2 length. It was a head further back to Optimizer in 3rd. Skyring is 4 of 20 lifetime with three 2nds and two 3rds and has earned $424,148 while notching his first Graded victory. He was bred by Bluegrass Hall, LLC and is owned by Calumet Farm.
