Regular rider Martin Pedroza sent Private Zone out of the gate to take the lead out of the chute and up the backstretch and needed little else en route to his win on the Travers Stakes undercard. He wins by 3 3/4 lengths over The Big Beast. Viva Majorca closed well and missed the place by a head. Private Zone is 10-8-3 from 30 starts and he has earned $2,608,120. He was bred by Adena Springs, owned by Good Friends Stables, and he is being trained by Jorge Navarro.
