Description: Private Zone (ON) B , G, foaled April 12, 2009 (Macho Uno - Auburn Beauty, by Siphon (BRZ)) get his fifth North American Graded victory with a front running score in the 7 furlong $500K Grade II Churchill Downs Stakes at Churchill Downs May 2, 2015. Jockey Martin Pedroza was first out of the gate and the first to the wire in a commanding performance. Nates Mineshaft pressured Private Zone early, backed off, and came again at they were turning for home. Nates Mineshaft had a brief lead and looked to be going for the win in the upper stretch but Private Zone came back along the fence and went on to win by 4 3/4 lengths. Pants On Fire was making up ground down the stretch but missed the place by a head. Private Zone is now 8-8-2 from 27 starts and he has earned $1,888,120. Early in his career, Private Zone raced in Panama at the Presidente Remon Racetrack where he won a Group III as a two year old and a Group I as a three year old. He was brought to the US in 2012 and was stakes placed in 13 races, including wins in the Grade I Vosburgh (2013, 2014), the Grade I Cigar Mile, and his recent win in the Churchill Downs Stakes. In his 17 US races, Private Zone has been ridden by Martin Pedroza 15 times. Private Zone was bred by Adena Springs and he is owned by Good Friends Stable.
