Description: Nyquist (KY) B , C, foaled March 10, 2013 (Uncle Mo - Seeking Gabrielle, by Forestry) remains undefeated with his eighth straight victory in the 10 furlong $2 million Grade I Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs May 7, 2016.  Jockey Mario Gutierrez and Nyquist broke alertly and chased after Danzing Candy.  Gun Runner moved up along the inside and took over the second position as they raced into the far turn.  Nyquist stayed his outside course and ranged up alongside Gun Runner as they turned for home.  Nyquist took command and ran for the wire.  Exaggerator came from far back, weaving through traffic around the far turn and came surging late along the outside down the stretch.  Nyquist would not be denied, he wins by a1 /14 lengths.  Nyquist won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile last year and won the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Two Year Old Colt of 2015.  He is 8 for 8 and he has now earned $4,954,200.  Nyquist is owned by Reddam Racing, was bred by Summerhill Farm, and he is being trained by Doug O'Neill.
