Description: Noble Moon (VA) B , C, foaled March 6, 2011 ( Malibu Moon - Mambo Bell, by Kingmambo) took over the lead down the back stretch and went on to win the 1 mile 70yds $200K Grade 2 Jerome Stakes on the inner dirt track at Aqueduct January 4, 2014. Jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. sent Noble Moon up to challenge front runner Pin And Win, found no opposition there as the latter quickly gave way. However, Master Lightning and Classic Giacnroll move up to challenge as they approached the 1/2 mile marker. Noble Moon held the lead around the turn, Master Lightning could not keep up and Classic Giacnroll looked to be the one to fear at the top of the lane. But inside the 1/8 pole Noble Moon began to draw clear to win by 2 open lengths. Classic Giacnroll did hold 2nd, 2 1/2 lengths in front of Scotland in 3rd. The Jerome was a 'Road to the Kentucky Derby' prep race and Noble Moon earned 10 points towards a starting berth in the Derby. Noble Moon was bred by the Estate of Edward P.
