Jockey Florent Geroux and Mongolian Saturday took off after Ready For Rye from the start, came up to challenge for the lead around the far turn, wrestled command at the 1/8 pole and sprinted for home. Lady Shipman was tracking the leaders along the rail around that turn, came outside for the drive and finished fast to just miss the win by a neck. Green Mask came from mid pack to get the show, a 1/2 length further back. Mongolian Saturday's previous wins came at the AOC or Starter OC level while being stakes placed in many others. He signaled his readiness with a second place finish to Amelia's Wild Ride in the G3 5 1/2 furlong Woodford Stakes at Keeneland October 3rd.
