Description: Molly Morgan (KY) B , M, foaled April 21, 2009 (Ghostzapper - Capitulation, by Distorted Humor) again showed her affinity for raced along the rail with a victory in the 8.5 furlong $300K Grade I La Troienne Stakes at Churchill Downs May 1, 2015. Molly Morgan had a tune up with her 3rd place finish behind Sheer Drama and House Rules in the Grade II Royal Delta Stakes last month at Gulfstream Park. She remained in training since her 3rd place finish to Frivolous and Don't Tell Sophia in the Falls City Handicap at Churchill Downs last November. Jockey Corey Lanerie found the rail going around the Clubhouse turn and kept her there as Sweet Whiskey went out to show the way up the back stretch. After a half mile Gold Medal Dancer and My Miss Sophia began to put pressure on the front runner and Sheer Drama got into the fray as they rounded the far turn. Molly Morgan gained ground along the rail around that turn and went on through a clear opening as a tiring Sweet Whiskey gave way. Molly Morgan went on to score by 3/4 lengths. Sheer Drama edged out Gold Medal Dancer by a head for the place. Molly Morgan is now 8-4-8 from 29 starts and she has earned $882,159.
