Description: Main Sequence (KY) CH , G, foaled February 13, 2009 (Aldebaran - Ikat (IRE), by Pivotal (GB)) gets his third Grade I win in a row since coming to the U.S. with a victory in the 1 1/2 miles $600K Grade I Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Stakes on the firm turf course at Belmont Park September 27, 2014. Jockey Rajiv Maragh and Main Sequence broke a bit awkwardly but recovered nicely to race along the rail and saved ground racing in the two path around the first turn. He raced in mid-pack as Imagining set slow fractions up front with Real Solution in close attendance and Twilight Eclipse was racing along the inside up close to the slow pace in 4th as they traveled up the backstretch. Midway around the far turn Main Sequence split horses to gain a striking position and went to the outside for his run down the stretch. Twilight Eclipse was racing down along the fence looking for racing room. As Main Sequence found his best stride, Twilight Eclipse came off the rail to go between horses and the two of them battled it out to the wire. Main Sequence came away a neck in front of Twilight Eclipse. However, the Stewards flashed the inquiry sign as Main Sequence came over nearing the line to bump Twilight Eclipse. The film revealed both horses equally contributed to the interference and there was no change in the order of finish. Imagining ran tough down the stretch, he was a length further back for the show. A homebred of Flaxman Holdings, Main Sequence is 7-3-3 from 17 starts and he has earned $1,648,386. His trainer in the U.S. is Graham Motion. The Joe Hirsch Turf Classic is a Breeders' Cup World Championships 'Win & You're In' Challenge Series race and Main Sequence gets his entry fees paid to run in the BC Turf November 1st at Santa Anita.
