Description: La Verdad (NY) B , M, foaled April 29, 2010 (Yes It's True - Noble Fire, by Hook and Ladder) successfully defends her title in the 6 furlong $200K Grade II Distaff Handicap at Aqueduct Racetrack on April 18, 2015. Jockey Jose Ortiz sent La Verdad immediately to front and Airofdistinction went up to challenge her. However, after a quarter mile it was all La Verdad the others just running for second. La Verdad wins back to back Distaff Handicaps with a 5 1/2 length victory over Frivolity. Frivolity was a neck better than Mamdooha for the place. La Verdad was making her first start as a five year old, she was last seen running against the boys in the G3 Fall Highweight Handicap November 27, 2014 at AQU when she finished 7th. She is in the middle of an excellent career with a record of 11-2-0 from 17 starts and has earnings of $900,700.
