Description: Honor Code (KY) DK B/, R, foaled March 1, 2011 (A.P. Indy - Serena's Cat, by Storm Cat) earned millionaire status with his resounding victory in the 8 furlong $1.25 million Grade I Metropolitan Handicap (The Met Mile) at Belmont Park June 6, 2015. Jockey Javier Castellano settled Honor Code 15 lengths off the torrid pace set by Private Zone as they ran up the back stretch. Private Zone was sailing and Bayern tried to keep the pressure on, however Private Zone set quick fractions of :22.42, :44.92 and Bayern couldn't keep up. Tonalist was running in 7th up the back stretch in the clear on the outside. As Private Zone rounded the far turn, Tamarkuz was looking the danger, Tonalist stayed to the outside while closing the gap, and Honor Code was mounting his late run. Private Zone had a clear lead at the top of the stretch, he ran off 6 furlongs in 1:08.74, Tamarkuz couldn't sustain his bid, Tonalist was gaining on the leader, and Honor Code was in full flight in mid track. Honor Code flew by Private Zone at the 1/8th pole and went on to score by 3 3/4 lengths in a tour de force performance. Tonalist got up for 2nd, 2 lengths in front of Private Zone in 3rd. Honor Code stopped the timer in 1:33.18. Honor Code is 5-2-0 from 8 starts and he has earned $1,308,260. He was bred by Dell Ridge Farm, owned by Dell Ridge and Lane's End Farm, and he is being trained by Hall Of Fame trainer Claude 'Shug' McGaughey. The Met Mile is a Breeders' Cup World Championship 'Win & You're In' Challenge race and Honor Code gets a free berth in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile October 31st at Keeneland.
