Description: Graydar (KY) GR/RO, C, foaled May 16, 2009 (Unbridled's Song - Sweetest Smile, by Dehere) is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with his victory in the 1 1/8 miles $400K Grade II New Orleans Handicap March 30 2013 at Fair Grounds. He just came off a good score in the Grade I Donn Handicap at Gulfstream Park February 9. He has now reeled off 3 wins in a row and he has won 4 of 5 with one 3rd place finish while earning $601,560. In his NO Hcp victory he was kept wide around the first turn and moved up to a tracking position, jockey Edgar Prado started asking him for some run midway around the far turn. At the top of the stretch he was put to a drive to collar Mark Valeski, did battle with that rival then pulled away nearing the 1/16 pole to win by 2 1/2 lengths. Mark Valeski did hold second, a head in front of Bourbon Courage in 3rd. Graydar was bred by W. S. Farish and he is owned by Twin Creeks Racing Stables, LLC. He is trained by Todd Pletcher.
