Description: Fair Grounds Race Course had a bevy of stakes action the week end of January 19 and 26 2013. First up was the Louisiana Handicap on January 19 2013. The 1 1/16 miles $100k race was won by Infrattini (KY) B , G, foaled March 25, 2008 (Include - Casa Frattini, by Mr. Greeley) taking his win streak to 4 in a row. He sat behind frontrunners Hurricane Ike and Mark Valeski and then did battle with Mark Valeski to the wire proving best by 3/4 lengths. Hurricane Ike was another 1 1/2 lengths back in 3rd. Infrattini has won 6 of 16 races and placed 5 times. He has won $329,952 for his owner/breeder Z Thoroughbreds, LLC. He is trained by Paul J. McGee and was ridden by Miguel Mena.

Next up that day was the 1 mile 70 yds $125K Silverbulletday Stakes. Touch Magic (KY) CH , F, foaled April 26, 2010 (Lion Heart - Unifier, by Deputy Minister) was rated behind the leaders and collared Gal About Town nearing the 1/16 pole and prevailed by 3/4 in a prolonged stretch drive. It was another length back to 3rd place finisher Smitten. Touch Magic is 3 for 5 with 2 place finishes and has won $208,200 for her owners Coteau Grove Farms, LLC. She was bred by Hermitage Farm LLC and is being trained by Patrick Devereux, Jr. Touch Magic was ridden to victory by James Graham.

On Saturday January 26 it was the 1 1/16 $75K turf Marie G Krantz Memorial. Daisy Devine (KY) B , M, foaled March 28, 2008 (Kafwain - Devil's Dispute, by Devil's Bag) completed a 3 bagger with her 1 3/4 length victory over a fast closing Ausus. Anniversary Girl was another 1 3/4 lengths back in 3rd. Daisy Devine has 10 wins from 19 starts and has won $991,281. She was bred by J. Reiley McDonald, she is owned by James M Miller and is trained by Andrew McKeever. She was ridden to victory by James Graham.

The feature race was the $125K Col ER Bradley Stakes on the turf at the about distance of 1 1/16 miles. Optimizer (KY) B , C, foaled March 8, 2009 (English Channel - Indy Pick, by A.P. Indy) set all the fractions under mild pressure then drew off down the stretch to by 3 1/2 lengths over String King. It was another 3/4 lengths back to Bim Bam in 3rd. Optimizer is 4 of 20 and has won $536,942. He was bred by his owners Bluegrass Hall, LLC, he is trained by Hall of Fame trainer D.
