Description: Elektrum (IRE) B , F, foaled April 7, 2011 (High Chaparral (IRE) - Carolines Secret (GB), by Inchinor (GB)) get her first stakes victory since coming to North American in the 9 furlong $250K Grade II John C. Mabee Stakes over the firm turf course at Del Mar August 8, 2015. Jockey Victor Espinoza settled Elektrum into a stalking position as Fanticola went out to show the way around the Clubhouse turn and up the back stretch. As they raced into the far turn Queen Of The Sand picked up the chase from the rear, Emotional Kitten went with her, and Elektrum joined that pair as they turned for home. Elecktrum got the lead in mid stretch and went on to score by head over Queen Of The Sand. Emotional Kitten was just a neck further back for the show. Elektrum is 4-4-2 from 15 starts and she has earned $299,438. She is 2-2-0 from 5 US starts since coming over from France earlier this year. She was bred by Sweet Caroline Partnership.
