Description: Daredevil (KY) CH , C, foaled February 15, 2012 (More Than Ready - Chasethewildwind, by Forty Niner) is undefeated in his young career with a victory in the 1 mile $500K Grade I Champagne Stakes on a sloppy track at Belmont Park October 4, 2014. Jockey Javier Castellano stalked the pace set by Holy Boss. Holy Boss was pressed for the lead by El Kabeir and briefly by I Spent It. However, those two were backing out of it around the far turn as Daredevil ran up along the outside to engage Holy Boss. Holy Boss gave way turning for home and Upstart was gaining much ground to give chase to Daredevil as they straightened for home. However, Daredevil sprinted away from that one and won by 2 1/2 lengths at the wire. The Truth Or Else came along for 3rd, 12 3/4 lengths further back. Daredevil is 2 for 2 and he has earned $345,000 for his owners at Let's Go Stables. He was bred by Brandon & Marianne Chase. The Champagne Stakes is a Breeders' Cup World Championships 'Win & You're In' Challenge Series race and Daredevil gets his entry fees paid for towards a start in the BC Juvenile November 1st at Santa Anita. The Champagne also carried 10 points towards a start in the 2015 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs the first Saturday in May. Daredevil is being trained by Todd Pletcher.
