Description: Dads Caps (KY) B , C, foaled May 19, 2010 (Discreet Cat - Seeking the Silver, by Grindstone) picked up his first Graded win in the 7 furlong $500K Grade 1 Carter Handicap April 5, 2014 at Aqueduct Racetrack. The low weight in a nice field of Graded winners, Dads Caps was sent to the front by jockey Luis Contreras. Strapping Groom applied pressure from the outside and as that one made a move around the far turn to get past Dads Caps he could not. As they turned for home Dads Caps stayed on. Sahara Sky came running but could not catch him as Dads Caps won by 1 1/2 lengths. It was 3 3/4 lengths further back to Clearly Now in 3rd. Dads Caps is 4-3-1 from 9 starts and he has won $512,150.
