Description: Coltimus Prime (ON) DK B/, C, foaled May 10, 2011 (Milwaukee Brew - Certainly Special, by Distorted Humor) goes wire to wire to take down the middle jewel in Canada's Triple Crown Series, the 1 3/16 miles $500K Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie Racetrack July 29, 2014. Jockey Eurico Da Silva broke smartly and went over to secure the rail position past the stands for the first time and into the Clubhouse turn. Lynx and Money Talks gave chase with Lynx getting nearest the winner at the 1/4 pole, however, coming out of the turn Coltimus Prime scampered off to a 3 1/2 length victory. Lynx held 2nd 3/4 lengths in front of favored Ami's Holiday. Coltimus Prime gets his first stakes victory. Earlier in the year he was on the Road to the Kentucky Derby but didn't show enough in the Tampa Bay Derby (9th) or the Blue Grass Stakes (5th). He has certainly blossomed in the Prince of Wales for trainer Justin Nixon. Coltimus Prime is 3-2-0 from 9 starts and he has earned $392,788.
