Jockey Martin Garcia shipped east with this frequent flyer from their California base, got the lead immediately out of the gate and was able to save ground along the rail around the Clubhouse turn. Wildcat Red and Social Inclusion were his nearest competitors but they let him control the pace, Bayern was cruising and those two were constantly trying to catch him. The undefeated filly, Untapable, didn't have the best of trips and while she made a nice move around the far turn she was carried wide and didn't have anything left for the drive. Bayern won at will and drew off as the rider pleased to win by 7 1/4 lengths at the wire. Albano finished in 2nd, 7 /14 lengths in front of Wildcat Red in 3rd.
