Description: Amira's Prince (IRE) B , C, foaled February 2, 2009 (Teofilo (IRE) - Twice The Ease (GB), by Green Desert) is undefeated since coming to the US late last year. He has won 4 in a row, his last two have been in the Grade II Mac Diarmida Stakes in February at Gulfstream Park and his most recent win came March 30 2013 in the 1 1/8 miles $400K Grade II Mervin Muniz Jr Hcp at Fair Grounds, both on the turf. In fact, all 4 of his US races have been on the turf. He first two races were in AOC company. In the Muniz Jr. Hcp, jockey Junior Alvarado keep him out of trouble with a wide trip around the first turn, gained the lead and set the pace. Almira's Prince was challenged for the lead around the far turn my String King but he kicked away from him and withheld a stiff drive by Wilcox Inn to prevail by a 1/2 length. String King faded 3 lengths further back in 3rd. Amira's Prince has now won 5 of 11 and has earned $429,913.
