Description: American Pharoah (KY) B , C, foaled February 2, 2012 (Pioneerof the Nile - Littleprincessemma, by Yankee Gentleman) turns in a command performance with his victory in the 9 furlong $1.75 million Grade I Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Racetrack August 2, 2015. Regular rider Victor Espinoza let Competitive Edge show the way until mid way around the far turn. As they neared the quarter pole American Pharoah went on by Competitive Edge and extended his lead to five lengths in a few strides and the rider let American Pharoah gallop home from there winning by 2 1/4 lengths over Ken Ice. Upstart was 3 lengths further back for the show. The Haskell is a Breeders' Cup World Championships Challenge Series races and American Pharoah gets his entry fees paid for a start in the BC Classic should his connections decide to send him to Keeneland this October.
